Daya Bay NPP
Guangdong Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station (GDBNPS) is located on the
coast of Daya Bay in the east of Shenzhen, and occupies an area of
635000 m2. The power station consists of two reactor units of French
design Framatome 900 MW class Pressurized Water Reactors, with GEC-Alstom
turbines. Electricite de France (EDF) managed construction, starting
August 1987, with the participation of Chinese engineers. Commercial
operation of the two units was in February and May 1994 respectively.
The plant produces about 13 billion kWh per year, with 70% transmitted
to Hong Kong and 30% to Guangdong.
Lingao Nuclear Power Station (LNPS)
The Lingao plant is being built to a similar design to the Daya Bay
plant, only 1.2km away. The 1,870MW (2x935MW) Lingao plant is based
on French pressurized water reactor technology. Lingao is virtually
replicas of adjacent Daya Bay in terms of design and equipment, and
has a number of add-on technical improvement features. Lingao also
realizes the technology transfer principle and has accomplished self-reliance
in design and manufacturing aspects for some parts of the equipment.
Unit 1 and Unit 2 of LNPS began commercial operation on 28 May 2002
and 8 January 2003 respectively.
Two-way air ticket (Beijing-Shenzhen)& accommodation in Shenzhen
will be provided
